So I asked four of my good friends to come along. One of those friends being Josh Solar..
Since Josh was coming, we thought, why not make this road trip our monthly random shoot.
So here we go ... THE JOURNEY BEGINS!
PS... Let me just warn you this is a BIG post. Lots to look at. Enjoy.
The guys
Josh

Jeremy

Brandon (aka Sassy) (aka The guy who made us 30 minutes late
)

We started our pics in a town I have been wanting to visit for a long time, just because it has an intriguing name.
Emma Missouri...
Just basically one main road with some churches, houses and this amazing building with all this weird air force equipment in the parking lot
Yup. Those are missiles

Josh hard at work

So, Emma was rad, but we were running about 30 minutes behind and running out of daylight so we continue on our journey...
Excited for road trip (photo by Brandon Loving)

Suddenly, on the side of the highway, I see a magnificent sight ... It's a plot of land with old broken down cars as far as the eye can see!! Many of which, I hadn't even heard of.

Coolest hood ornament EVER!

A close Second

Coolest school bus EVER!

He said he had candy. So, YEAH... I'm going to get in the bus
.

I could have spent all night there, but now we were really running out of time and daylight since we were running like 30 minutes late!
So Brandon hopped in our newly acquired ride and we drove the rest of the way to St. Louis ...

Phew ... after a long drive and a couple of miss-maps with the GPS, we finally made it to the show!
Now the first band was called Via Audio. They weren't bad, but the real star was the bass player. He brought a whole new energy to the show. Very fun to watch.

And time for Dave ...
Sound checking and tuning

What are you looking at?

There was really bad lighting once he started playing so enjoy some black and white!

I was also recording the show with my little sony high def, so most of my attention was on that. I didn't get all the pictures I wanted but Josh has a lot more HERE
At the end of the night we got to hang out a little bit with Dave, which was really cool. I've met him a few times and he's always rad to talk to.
Funny Faces

Like I said, A really fun night... Now it's time for the 4 hour drive back to Kansas City

Like I said, I filmed the show, so hopefully I will have a little album teaser up soon for Dave's new record, so check back soon.
ps... Sorry about all the 30 minutes stuff Sassy. We love youz! and thanks for paying for parking!

that first pic of sassy is real sweet and i love the one of david's shoes, great colors.
It's funny that I have some of the EXACT same pics from Mr. Bazan's show, and almost posted them :)
I guess great minds think alike!
Also, we HAVE to go back to that car lot...you saw so much stuff I missed because we were 30 minutes late!
Seriously great shots, brotha. You've come such a long way with your photography!
